Custom PC
ITX PC Case from scratch with a computer, Nintendo Switch dock, ethernet switch, and art on all panels
As I planned for life at Stanford, I wanted to rebuild my PC to make it space-efficient and fit in a carry-on luggage.
Panels
One requirement of mine was to have art on every panel. I decided that the front, top, back, and bottom panel would be stickerbombed while the side panels would have Nintendo DS games as art.
Before Laser-Cutting
The stickerbombed panels needed to be completely covered in stickers. I chose to first stickerbomb the hardboard panels, then clear coat and apply a painters tape layer, and then cut the panels, ensuring complete coverage.
Final Front-Panel
Side Panels
There are 4 layers of sheet material on each side to accommodate the Nintendo DS games in the panels, with the mounting panel, a counterbored panel, a panel with frames for the games to slot in, and the acrylic top-cover. I embedded mostly Japanese DS games in the side panels, as they are very inexpensive to buy in bulk and have vibrant colors.
Non-computer additions
Nintendo Switch Dock
Soldered panel-mount USB cables to connect to the front panel, used extension cables to connect to the back panel, and designed a custom 3D printed mount.
Joy Con Charger
Sanded and smoothed an existing generic charger. Added custom wiring to power off of SATA power wire from the PC's internal power supply.
Ethernet Switch
Custom 3D printed mount and cable to power off of PC's internal power supply. Mount includes a brace to help stabilize the GPU during shipping.
